  1. Thank you for hosting, Ben! The seminar really showcased the great work and positive culture at Kalles Junior High! It was awesome to hear from the Kalles' students, your leadership lens, and principal Kovacs leadership style and advice. I really enjoyed the data perspective in your presentation, and the focus on a growth mindset. :) Kassie

  2. What a great place for kids, Ben! As a parent of a Kalles student, I must say that Kalles has done an outstanding job at making him feel like it is his school. From the teachers to other students-this is a welcoming place. The hallways exude a feeling of ownership from students and a positive culture. Thanks Ben! Great presentation!

  3. Ben, thanks for a GREAT evening! Guy - thanks for a wonderful inside look at the decisions you have made to become the principal you are today. Student presenters: AMAZING job - highly interactive and very applicable to what we need to know! Thank you all very much for a great evening. Best part: we felt the culture throughout the evening. :)

  5. Riippi! That was awesome. Fantastic job. I was amazed by how all of the students could so clearly articulate what Kalles is all about. You could tell that those students LOVE that school. Kudos to you and Guy. Double kudos to the student body president who had the guts to have Tim put a card into his mouth as part of a magic trick. Too funny!

  6. I enjoyed our last seminar with Ben at Kalles. Highlights included the STUDENTS! Thank you for sharing your authentic leadership style by empowering Kalles students. I appreciated Guy's sharing of his leadership style. As always, the job search advice and resources from our AMAZING LEADER was truly helpful and appreciated. Thank you again Ben for making it a terrific night.

  8. Ben,
First, let me go on record as saying how blessed I am to have been around you. The enthusiasm for life, for goodness is contagious. Just as it was in high school....but tempered now :). I am consistently reminded of the power of student ownership of a school. That when student culture is one of pride and certain access for all it permeates everything else. Thank you for organizing the student voice. (How did he do that card trick?)
Years ago, John Bustad had us all read Frosty Westerings, "Make the Big Time Where You Are" which has resonated me all these years since. Clearly, Guy continues to model those same values toward all Tyees.
    Leave today, ready for tomorrow.
